April Awareness Celebrations: Alchemizing, Strategizing, Prioritizing

Welcome April Blossoms of Beauty and Bravery!
As we near the end of April, May Transformations are beckoning! There are so many April celebrations that are near and dear to my heart, I had to speak to them before month’s end! Even though the bigger, better spotlights I woulda, coulda, shoulda given the following didn’t happen, we can still take a mindful moment of honoring and recognition. Let me first recognize you with gratitude for being here and honoring us with your time, heart, and mind. Thank you for being here!

April! The month that is often a menopausal one for our Mother with her warm flashes and surprise storms. April is the time of recognition of our mother with Earth Day/Month. Of course, Earth Day every day of the year yet April 22 is a longstanding calendarization for our attention. We love you mama earth! We have this and other earth songs featured on our ETV Music Video page.

April is also the official month to celebrate Young Children and Libraries; 2 cornerstones of our work/play at Leaping Literacy Online Library!

Much as I thought I would leverage these celebrations this month with progress in the Library and new production work, my main focus was inward yet again. I came face to face with an ongoing health challenge that actually has its roots in another April occasion ~ today is the 42nd year anniversary of breaking my neck. The vlog below speaks to the journey. Some of the metaphysical nuggets are letting go of ‘old fixes’ and employing new opportunities, releasing resistance, allowing alchemy, transcendence, and evolution, trusting transformation. I still struggle with the volume of me expressing concisely! I did this April vlog twice and while the 2nd time conceivably is more organized and concise, it is just as long and in fact, a bit longer than the 1st! The 1st one was full of tears and led me to some places I needed to go to gain the clarity for the 2nd one 🙂 I spent time producing the 1st one and had vowed to put it out so in a game time decision, I am posting both onsite in the quiet vlog space. If you are going to invest the time, I highly recommend the 2nd one over the 1st. Yet, in the spirit of birth and death, i did post both, at least for now. So goes the journey of messy me trusting the divinity of alchemy!

There are MANY celebrations, every month and every DAY! In the April Vlog 2, I celebrate some of them noted TODAY from the fun website https://www.holidaycalendar.io whereby they give all the history and significance of each day’s celebration/honoring. Apparently, anyone can start a Day with a little momentum! April 28th is noted for many things including Biological Clock Day, Clean Comendy Day, National Super Hero Day, Pet Parent Day, Stop Food Waste Day, Great Poetry Reading Day and more! I read from the great Unity poet James Dillet Freeman in Vlog 2 as a nod to another of today’s celebrations, ‘Pay It Forward Day’. Poets indeed pay it forward sometimes for generations with the power of their words!

There is an infinity of ways we can focus and show up any moment, day, month. There are so many celebrations, honorings, ponderings we can give our time, heart, and mind to. By following our heart and natural curiosity, we are aligniung with our soul purpose in being here, in this incarnation and lifetime. With our own unique gifts and skills, we are here to serve each other and our own soul’s purpose in choosing to be here now.

There is much to say about where Leaping Literacy Library is now and is going yet I will be ok, this anniversary day with just being messy me, showing up as me ~ the light of divinity mirroring the same in YOU! Free from needing to be anything more. My latest song is on the site Blog page, Be Free. As I root in the call of prayer (James Dillet Freeman) and the sense of what free is for me, I allow this moment’s April alchemy to be enough. Just right. As is. Valentine Shine!

Namaste Divine Shine Valentines!
I greet you in Love this Valentine’s eve turned day ~ Happy Valentine’s Day! We have lots of Valentine & heart celebrations @ famlit.tv and here on our New Thought Families Mindful Multimedia page including the Divine Shine Valentine Om HomETV show. Our February Heart of Love video calendar is playing to remind us daily to be home in the heart of Love. My mind and heart are stayed on the freedom of big Love; the ‘Always Love’ referred to by Earnest Holmes that I put into song some time back and return to often, especially on Valentine’s Day. For while the holiday is indeed a celebration of couples and romantic love, it is a spotlight on Love itself, what it means and what it brings. And what we bring to it. I embrace it as a joyful holy day even though I am not coupled.

September Structure, Chaos and Balance in the Equinox Circle

Namaste Bright Spot of Beauty in the Circle! A Blessed, Balanced Equinox to You!

In what is hopefully a positive transformation, the promised Sacred Sunday posts of September went into renegotiation. I will return on Sacred Sunday, 10/1/23! There is a bit more on that below in the ‘Entropy and Evolution’ section.
For NOW, let’s focus on the turn of the wheel at hand! Equinox!

I am joining you in the Equinox Spirit of Balance. This post comes in sacred circle awareness celebration of the Tao of dark and light, day and night, yes and no, fast and slow, male and female energies, structured and chaotic synergies. Here, we are embracing the fall season and Mabon. Let’s sing it @ New Thought Families:

As we embrace this time of balance ~ equal light and dark ~ and prepare ourselves for winter or summer depending on where we are on the globe, nature invites us to clean, take stock, prepare for the new season ahead. All in good balance, right?!
Here are a few Equinox activities that can bring harmony and balance:

1. Clean house! This can include everything from a light dust to washing windows and reorganizing closets to moving furniture and re-hanging pitures!

It is a perfect time to clean; spring cleaning and fall cleaning are a natural rhythm for many of us. As part of the dusting off process, purging of excess is always good. Use it or lose it! For some of us abundant collectors, this can be quite a time! As I was just walking again, 6 months ago, for spring cleaning, I have been going after the corners this fall like never before. Coming up on 5 years in this playhouse and there is no spot safe from the sweep, much less the overhaul! Like so much of life, a certain chaos of cleaning can happen. In my case, this week, I kinda went off the rails with some deep clean renovation work around the playhouse The vlog takes you into some of the deep dives though the vlog itself was definitely a chaotic journey in process all week long. 2. Reset your altar(s) with seasonal remembrances and inspirations. Bring nature or nature remembrances in to amplify the energies. Center in the light of the candle’s flame allowing it to ignite more illumination in knowing your inner light’s glow.

3. Use fall leaves and acorns for release and stocking up! In this ETV Transformational Tools segment, I do this process if you want to travel through the deets with me. Yet, let me just give you the overview as invitation and you can do this process in any way that works for you!

Fall leaves represent release. What do you want to let go of in your life? Can you use leaves as a representation of these things? Write them on the leaves and ‘leaf’ them around where you can see them, burn them, or anything else that calls you deeper as reminders and remembrances into your letting go process.

Squirrels are busy hiding acorns this time of year. They stash them away for cold, bleak winter days. What would you like to stockpile for any dark days or moments ahead? Think of as many heart smilers as you can. You can even just make a list and remember where to look for it when you need a smile to balance out any sadness, grumpies, etc. Making art or something visual to hang around or put in a pretty box you can pull out are great ways to do this. What can you use to remind you of all that makes your heart smile and brings light to any darkness, warmth to any cold?

Entropy and Evolution

Nature is always in entropy and evolution. Thereby, so are we! The breakdown or decay of entropy is part of our aging process and what can be termed as chaotic in terms of personal or collective changes in our structures. Many factors can be seen as unstable yet we know that in divine order, all IS in order even when it is in breakdown mode. Sometimes this is readily seen on the physical plane yet it also lives and sometimes reins in the mental or emotional bodies.

My son, Jeremiah, first taught me about entropy many years ago. This year, after graduating college, he has been travelling Central America alone, though definitely with Spirit, pictured here after a 10 day silent retreat high atop a mountain in Peru. His adventure has been one of divine order and evolution.
The entropy moments have been managed masterfully; Jeremiah is not only intelligent smart, he is heart smart, able to navigate for his highest and best.

For my part, I have long been struggling with my life’s work in terms of what is doable for 1 person and how much sense it makes to keep creating work that goes unseen, much less paid. If I allow ‘common sense’ to have its way with me, I would never create another thing, ever again! For better or for worse, I do not choose common and do choose the spiritual senses that say, just create! That’s who you are and always will be, yippee, skippee! Trust, flow, create! Allow entropy, trust evolution and transformation! So! I am calendarizing the rest of the year with the life’s work I am still vowing to rectify. Though, continuing to show up lately has been a challenge to say the least, I am continuing to commit. And recommit. And recommit. Until entropy and/or evolution whisper me and my co-creative energies elsewhere in the circle of creation.

Wherever you are on your journey this equal day/night, may your entropy be filled with divinity ~ a divine shine aligned with order, always, and in all ways.

Shining Summer Solstice Magnifications & Illuminations!

Namaste & Happy Summer Solstice Shining Stars of Light Filled Beauty! Welcome to the circle of the sun celebration. At this midpoint and shortest night of the year, the light of purpose can be magnified; our divine magnificence as well as our debilitating shadows all illuminated for our good.

In the vlog @ New Thought Families I speak and sing to the shadows and the light in celebration of illumination including connections to Juneteenth and Father’s Day. I also offer 3 simple invitations for honoring this moment in time there and below. Solstices and Equinoxes are portals of energy long revered and honored by many of our ancestors. The energetic power is ramped up before, during, and after the actual times of light. Of course, the invitations are good any day, any time, we want to focus on our light and on the sacred.

Solstice Celebration Magnification of Illumination Invitations:
Do 1 or all 3 ~ Anytime you want to align with the shine of your divine design!

1. Turn your face to the sun, if even for a moment. Close your eyes and feel the light and warmth bathe your face. Say a prayer, focus your intention and attention on the light, or simply soak it up. You can also speak aloud or in your mind some gratitude for the magnitude of how the sun gives us light and life itself all over our pretty planet home.

2. Light a candle. As you spark the flame, give it your intention and attention. Call in the light. Acknowledge the light. Ask for illumination and/or give thanks for the same. You can surrender any pain into the flame. You can honor those that have gone before us. You can recognize the divine that is ever present, omnipresent, in this right now moment. You can align with the Presence, with the Light, with any or all who have ever done the same around the flame.

3. Witness, renew or set an altar. As I speak of in the vlog, altars are touchstone places whereby we can bring our mind and heart into remembrance and resonance with the divine. Nature provides so many altars of beauty from sweeping landscapes to the center of a flower where beauty is perfectly placed and smiling. You could just take a moment to witness an altar in nature that speaks to you and stirs your soul. Perhaps you have an altar in your home or many of them as I do. In this Solstice energy, it is a great time to revisit and renew your altar(s) especially with nature elements. If you are new to altars or it’s been awhile, just center in your heart, set the intention in your mind, and go about finding and placing any objects that speak to your sense of the sacred. Create a place that when you look upon it, you will feel more centered and aligned with the shine of your divine design!

Whether you make an altar, or take a moment with flame or sun, may your heart be illumined in knowing the divine Love you are made of. In this Solstice shine or any moment of time, may you align with the shine of your divine design! Namaste Light of Love!

Singing Notes Of Hope

Namaste shining beacons of hope!

I greet you in the flame of the 1st Advent candle lit this week for hope as we open our hearts to this 2020 Christmas season and the beckoning of a new, brighter year. I have a whole list of 2020 gifts to share here at some point this month yet this Transformational Tuesday of charitable giving, I am focused on the powerful gift of hope.

Our newest Om HomETV is centered on the fiery power of hope with song and some time to play and pray. Our Feature Creature Teacher is Hummingbird who reminds us of the power of small and the mightiness in keeping it light. As the tiny teacher Hummingbird shows us ~ when we are light weight energy moving with faith filled dreams, we do feel joyous and filled with hope.

The smallest bird in the world has the biggest brain and certainly keeps the energy moving!

Shine the light into any darkness!

Hope is the light in the darkness. A deep despair feeling is a dark place we can light up with a hope filled thought. The candle is an age old transformational tool and these days (especially with younger children), we can easily use a battery operated flame or even a flashlight to call in the light. We can call in the light to any darkness. You can sit in a dark room and then switch on a battery candle or flashlight in silent motion or affirmation spoken. As we affirm the presence of light in hopeful affirmation, we fill our hearts and minds with faith. We choose to believe in our hope filled thoughts. Let’s try this now …
Think of anything that feels like darkness … some disappointment, disillusionment, or despair. You can have eyes closed or be in a dark room, ready to flip the switch of light. Your affirmation of light opens your mind and heart with the power of hope and new possibilities. Hope is a light in the dark! Hope is also the fuel for your dreams! When you open up, with a hopeful yes and let your imagination help you experience your dream as reality, you are entering into the great potentiality that you possess as co-creator. As we spend transformational time with hope, we know that we can always begin again in any moment we have only to say YES!

Shine the light of hope on any darkness!

As we embrace the infinite possibilities that hope helps us center in, we play with the light. Feature Creature Teacher Hummingbird in free form flight is always feeding from the sweetness of life, reminding us to keep our energy moving and light!

In keeping with Unity’s ‘Standing In Truth, I Move From Fear To Faith’ and our Creative Spirit Families’ September Circles, I offer this prayer:

Holy Divine Presence, Creator of all there is,
We center in Your light, Your Love,
Your goodness, Your gooness, Your isness.
Like the caterpillar in the chrysalis
We pray to know the good in the goo.
From the chaos, confusion, dissolving illusions,
We breathe in the truth of Life’s Lovelight of goodness.
We breathe out the messiness of transformation’s gooness.
We breathe in trust of divine order always and in all ways.
We breathe out the fear, the doubt, the pain of all in the circle.
Connected with all there ever was, is, will be,
Faith fills our feet as we stand in truth.
We affirm our isness now. We are. I am.

Deep in the breath of the great I Am
is the breadth of all that is. Isness.

Solitary Visionary Seeing Plenty In 2020

Namaste 2020 Visionaries!
I join you in the duality of the double 20’s on this most auspicious palindrome day, 02/02/2020! This being a rare 8 digit palindrome not seen since 11/11/1111 (909 years!), it heightens all the other life celebrations of this weekend. The groundhog or woodchuck shares this day with the Christian Candlemas which was originally the purification of Mary 40 days after the birth of Christ (hugh?!), now seen more as the presentation of the baby to the temple. Both of these celebrations stem from the deeper roots of Brigid Day and Imbolc in the Pagan tradition. Imbolc falls on this date (2/1 or 2/2), as the mid-point between winter solstice and spring equinox. The solstice being the longest night and the equinox, equal light, first day of spring and time for planting seeds, the woodchuck is perhaps a more male version of the ancient goddess tradition?!

From the darkness of winter and the womb, may we see with the eyes of spring seeds and a balance between light and dark. Nature is the great equalizer and needed tonic for the insanity of humanity. In our national politics, we remain a divided people as the impeachment trial of President Trump draws towards completion, without witnesses or evidence allowed in the courtroom. (Hugh?!) Oh where oh where do we find truth?! Always within. And always in Love. For those of us on the conscious spiritual path, divine Love is the only place to find ultimate truth, especially now in the swirl of this world and the birthing pains of the next level of humanity! We can only and always keep aligning with the Love that created us and calls to us to keep co-creating more LOVE!
From that place of Big Love and deep appreciation, I want to honor all the presidential nominees with special attention to Marianne Williamson who stood in her truth and spoke powerfully to the collective evolution. Her spiritual wisdom permeated her presentations and her pillars of moral repair, full of common sense and conscious spirit, are still up at her website. Thank you Marianne for speaking your truth and standing tall in it especially when the masses demeaned you for it. You are a warrioress of Love expressed! May we hold your vision with Love in action!

Living large in Love this 2020, we surely see in the circle of hindsight and clear forward vision. As we see with the eyes of our heart, we can and must live the Big Love that is the Spirit yes within us longing to be expressed. As the chaos of our times continues to be a daily assault on our senses and sensibilities, we continue to reach high and to reach within for the highest Love ever omnipresent calling us to truth, to home, to happiness, to Love itself. What we see and hear, sense and feel with our intuitive GPS is the vision that is ours to express. Staying anchored in Spirit, we can and will live this higher calling of truth and Love expressed in whatever ways are ours to do. With daily awareness, we can center and re-center in higher Love. It can be a messy process yet there is always peace in the center even as expansion stretches us into our fuller expressions and new manifestations may come kicking and screaming!

Leaping Literacy Library Free Shelf is in LOVE!

For my part, I continue to be filled with Spirit Love and daily devotion to finding the best ways to be in sacred service. Unfortunately in the realms of the Leaping Literacy Library, this has been a huge challenge to reckon with the thousands of files I have generated over the years. Our non-profit has received a donation that has allowed me to have some help yet I still feel some of the chaos and a lot of the overwhelm that has the Leaping Literacy Librarian in me wanting to hide between the books! I have had to prioritize and leave much of New Thought Families’ revisions on hold as I tend to my first love, Laurie’s Stories and the hundreds of Laurie StorEBooks on the website I first started 20 years ago. In twenty, I have indeed generated plenty! My intention is to revisit and renew some of the old and (finally!) move forward with the new. For New Thought Families, old visitations and revisions include Joy Boy and the long stagnant ABC pages. Most all of the thousands of pages are set for a reface or a final archive which is the process that the pages at Laurie’s Stories have been undergoing. The whole Library will be offered for a Leaping Wee Fee Membership this month (Just $29 from 2/9-2/29!) along with a special New Thought Families anniversary celebration on 2/20/2020. And! The debut of Leaping Literacy eTV is set for Leap Day 2/29! Stay fine tuned!

I Will Dream With You

Namaste 2019 Dreams of Hope, Resilience, Forgiveness and Goodness! Happy New Year! Happy Birthday Dr. King!Ah yes, the dreams of our nation. Remember them in the midst of our current chaos?! While this would be a worthy conversation, especially on Dr. King’s (real!) birthday, it is the personal dreams of you that I want to focus on this moment. Yes, dreams begin with me and from the place of reclaimed personal dreams, we are stronger in our courage and convictions to (re)build the collective dreams of society and humanity.

So! How do your dreams grow? Are they alive and well? Withered, forgotten? Somewhere in between? This time of year, we take our Monday holiday and remember the words of the great Dr. King. We lament how 5 decades later, his dreams are still not fully realized and in some ways still seem so far out of reach. Yet! We renew our awareness and aspirations of dreaming and being them true! He reminds us to never give up on his dreams ~ or on ours either!The new year brings us new hope and often resolutions of change that can go unimplemented or broken within days or weeks. We may choose defeat and let go of the dream that inspired the resolution for change. Yet! Just as we see the truth and goodness in Dr. King’s iconic dream, let us hold the same for ourselves. Our hearts are ever calling us to our higher selves through inspirations, recurring thoughts, dreams … it is ours to do to show up for them … again and again!The essence of dreams is rooted in Love, they call us to reach up and out, like branches reaching for the light in an effort to grow and fully become. Love’s opposite, fear, quite naturally springs up to throw shade on our dreams in a myriad of ways. Our job is to keep returning to Love and light that we may embody our highest callings ~ regardless of the timeline! Mother Teresa famously said, “Do not think that love in order to be genuine has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired. Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.” Let us thereby stay faithful to Love and to dreams ~ our own and those of the collective Love!The Spirit of Kokopelli is presiding over my new home and the state of my birthing new dreams here. Carrying the Spirit of the ancestors, of music, of children, I align with Kokopelli’s magical, mystical properties as one of my dream totems. We all need good, supportive energy in birthing dreams. So, in this mindful moment, let us dream together … your dreams, my dreams, the dreams of divinity through humanity. Let us continue to dream the dreams of Dr. King, for justice, equality, peace. Let us not tire of dreaming, let’s keep believing. Let us look to our children as teachers as they look at the world with possibility! At our first monthly PlayShop of 2019, the children of one beautiful family shared their dream to sell eggs to raise money for kids in hospitals. I am a happy customer! Blessed by their dream! And so it is that we can help incubate each other’s dreams. I will dream with you, Love!

Namaste Reverence Expressed!

Let us take a deep, honor filled breath of respect and reverence … for what it is to be here now, for what it is to be alive in these bodies individually and in the sea of humanity, and for what it is to be living on this AHmazing planet of beauty. Today’s post offers the transformational tool of reverent reality.

Also known as sacred awareness, reverent reality is living in a state of appreciation, respect and honor. From a spiritual perspective, I would add to standard dictionary definitions, the respect inherent in reverence is holy. Appreciative awareness of the sacred presence is indeed a divinely reverent, holy experience. The scale can be tiny or it can be grand … Let’s practice now! Here’s today’s (now yesterday’s!) daily Play & Pray:

See with the deep respect of reverence today! Start by closing your eyes and holding your hands over your eyes. Think about how good it is to see everything … call on your grateful heart to energize and activate your mind on just how good it is to see everything! Next, spread your fingers and open your eyes to just peek out … whatever you see, say, “WOW!” with the reverent reverie of an appreciation celebration. See how many times you can see and feel this wow vision of reverence as you go on your way today … Remembering just how good it is to see everything!

Thank You holy One for the expanse of beauty in this life. I am in grateful awe at how beautiful everything is on this planet home. Our sacred mother earth is always bursting with beauty as are all the animals and people as we live Your Love expressed. I pray to see and know everything today with this deep respect and reverent appreciation as well as the reverie of celebration! I also pray for all beings in our global family to awaken just even a tiny bit more to see You and all Your beauty this moment, this day, this life. We are all so blessed in Love!

Any way we choose to believe and perceive our reality, it most often takes practice to reclaim what comes naturally to us as children of the divine … living a holy awe, blessed YES existence of reverence is a practice. I find gratitude is the strongest set point and let’s face it, too many days, the default “ain’t it awful” wants to steer the ship that would otherwise sail on bliss. We must actively engage with the divine waiting to embrace us in arms of beauty, compassion, positivity & infinite potentiality! Reach for appreciation! Reach for reverence! Reach for rainbows!Rest assured dear reader, I remain aware of the current turbulence in our country and in this world … in fact, the life and death and political swirl of energies around Senator John McCain helped inspire this look at honor and reverence. My own personal world is still stuffed with honoring my parents and their failing bodies … Yesterday and today in service to my mom with a trip to AZ for her specialty boots. As any regular reader here knows, I could fill up paragraphs with my family commitments. In a few weeks, I will move Jeremiah into his dorm room and I am still riding the waves of grief that surface with that triumphant transition. I mention it all now in context of the reverent rainbow reach to say that it truly is how you believe and perceive your co-creations~! As my son moves on, and I listen deeply ~ reverently ~ to my soul and the compassion fatigue I have for the elder care, there are indeed new rainbow creations I am called to and reaching for! Yippee for me and infinite possibilities!

AND! Let me reverently relish in reverie the 2 big co-creations that have come to BE this AHsome August! For it is all too common for me ~ us?! ~ to focus on the pressing To Do’s rather than to pause for the Ta Da’s as part of the endless not enoughness that loves to be in the driver seat! For inherent in embodying a reverent, holy, blissful yes for life is to celebrate our isness and certainly our accomplishments and co-creations as fully as we can! In this way we honor ourselves and the Great Spirit that flows through us, as us. It is not I but the Spirit within me that doeth the work!

Feathers Of Freedom Family Camp!

This year’s Circle Of Love was spontaneously created by 2 of our teens (pictured below). With 102 signing up and showing up, my little Camp took on a whole new expansion. The Great Spirit of Love that guided us all made for a very happy, high vibe in our sacred Sierra playground! Here are a few pictures of circles, Teddy Bear Picnic, the zebra stop on the (Inner) Treasure Hunt, and Forgiveness Footprints Path. You can see more photos on our page.

Camp gave me such a heart start for the path ahead! I sincerely hope it did the same for the beautiful souls who came to co-create our treasured time!

And! As I mentioned in the last post, the new CD did make it out and we sang some of it at Camp! In the reverent reality of all my To Dos, I will perfectly, imperfectly be ‘releasing’ it here and in the greater cyber space more fully and reverently in the coming weeks. These ABC affirmations are indeed a singing celebration that joyously lift vibration! And as the cover speaks to, I was born for this!So! In holy reverence, I thank you for spending this sacred moment with me. I heartily invite you to open up to seeing with eyes of reverence. As you practice this, you will certainly feel more bliss!
