Namaste 2019 Dreams of Hope, Resilience, Forgiveness and Goodness! Happy New Year! Happy Birthday Dr. King!Ah yes, the dreams of our nation. Remember them in the midst of our current chaos?! While this would be a worthy conversation, especially on Dr. King’s (real!) birthday, it is the personal dreams of you that I want to focus on this moment. Yes, dreams begin with me and from the place of reclaimed personal dreams, we are stronger in our courage and convictions to (re)build the collective dreams of society and humanity.
So! How do your dreams grow? Are they alive and well? Withered, forgotten? Somewhere in between? This time of year, we take our Monday holiday and remember the words of the great Dr. King. We lament how 5 decades later, his dreams are still not fully realized and in some ways still seem so far out of reach. Yet! We renew our awareness and aspirations of dreaming and being them true! He reminds us to never give up on his dreams ~ or on ours either! The new year brings us new hope and often resolutions of change that can go unimplemented or broken within days or weeks. We may choose defeat and let go of the dream that inspired the resolution for change. Yet! Just as we see the truth and goodness in Dr. King’s iconic dream, let us hold the same for ourselves. Our hearts are ever calling us to our higher selves through inspirations, recurring thoughts, dreams … it is ours to do to show up for them … again and again! The essence of dreams is rooted in Love, they call us to reach up and out, like branches reaching for the light in an effort to grow and fully become. Love’s opposite, fear, quite naturally springs up to throw shade on our dreams in a myriad of ways. Our job is to keep returning to Love and light that we may embody our highest callings ~ regardless of the timeline! Mother Teresa famously said, “Do not think that love in order to be genuine has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired. Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.” Let us thereby stay faithful to Love and to dreams ~ our own and those of the collective Love! The Spirit of Kokopelli is presiding over my new home and the state of my birthing new dreams here. Carrying the Spirit of the ancestors, of music, of children, I align with Kokopelli’s magical, mystical properties as one of my dream totems. We all need good, supportive energy in birthing dreams. So, in this mindful moment, let us dream together … your dreams, my dreams, the dreams of divinity through humanity. Let us continue to dream the dreams of Dr. King, for justice, equality, peace. Let us not tire of dreaming, let’s keep believing. Let us look to our children as teachers as they look at the world with possibility! At our first monthly PlayShop of 2019, the children of one beautiful family shared their dream to sell eggs to raise money for kids in hospitals. I am a happy customer! Blessed by their dream! And so it is that we can help incubate each other’s dreams. I will dream with you, Love!
Let us take a deep, honor filled breath of respect and reverence … for what it is to be here now, for what it is to be alive in these bodies individually and in the sea of humanity, and for what it is to be living on this AHmazing planet of beauty. Today’s post offers the transformational tool of reverent reality.
Also known as sacred awareness, reverent reality is living in a state of appreciation, respect and honor. From a spiritual perspective, I would add to standard dictionary definitions, the respect inherent in reverence is holy. Appreciative awareness of the sacred presence is indeed a divinely reverent, holy experience. The scale can be tiny or it can be grand … Let’s practice now! Here’s today’s (now yesterday’s!) daily Play & Pray:
Play: See with the deep respect of reverence today! Start by closing your eyes and holding your hands over your eyes. Think about how good it is to see everything … call on your grateful heart to energize and activate your mind on just how good it is to see everything! Next, spread your fingers and open your eyes to just peek out … whatever you see, say, “WOW!” with the reverent reverie of an appreciation celebration. See how many times you can see and feel this wow vision of reverence as you go on your way today … Remembering just how good it is to see everything! Pray: Thank You holy One for the expanse of beauty in this life. I am in grateful awe at how beautiful everything is on this planet home. Our sacred mother earth is always bursting with beauty as are all the animals and people as we live Your Love expressed. I pray to see and know everything today with this deep respect and reverent appreciation as well as the reverie of celebration! I also pray for all beings in our global family to awaken just even a tiny bit more to see You and all Your beauty this moment, this day, this life. We are all so blessed in Love!
Any way we choose to believe and perceive our reality, it most often takes practice to reclaim what comes naturally to us as children of the divine … living a holy awe, blessed YES existence of reverence is a practice. I find gratitude is the strongest set point and let’s face it, too many days, the default “ain’t it awful” wants to steer the ship that would otherwise sail on bliss. We must actively engage with the divine waiting to embrace us in arms of beauty, compassion, positivity & infinite potentiality! Reach for appreciation! Reach for reverence! Reach for rainbows!Rest assured dear reader, I remain aware of the current turbulence in our country and in this world … in fact, the life and death and political swirl of energies around Senator John McCain helped inspire this look at honor and reverence. My own personal world is still stuffed with honoring my parents and their failing bodies … Yesterday and today in service to my mom with a trip to AZ for her specialty boots. As any regular reader here knows, I could fill up paragraphs with my family commitments. In a few weeks, I will move Jeremiah into his dorm room and I am still riding the waves of grief that surface with that triumphant transition. I mention it all now in context of the reverent rainbow reach to say that it truly is how you believe and perceive your co-creations~! As my son moves on, and I listen deeply ~ reverently ~ to my soul and the compassion fatigue I have for the elder care, there are indeed new rainbow creations I am called to and reaching for! Yippee for me and infinite possibilities!
AND! Let me reverently relish in reverie the 2 big co-creations that have come to BE this AHsome August! For it is all too common for me ~ us?! ~ to focus on the pressing To Do’s rather than to pause for the Ta Da’s as part of the endless not enoughness that loves to be in the driver seat! For inherent in embodying a reverent, holy, blissful yes for life is to celebrate our isness and certainly our accomplishments and co-creations as fully as we can! In this way we honor ourselves and the Great Spirit that flows through us, as us. It is not I but the Spirit within me that doeth the work!
Feathers Of Freedom Family Camp!
This year’s Circle Of Love was spontaneously created by 2 of our teens (pictured below). With 102 signing up and showing up, my little Camp took on a whole new expansion. The Great Spirit of Love that guided us all made for a very happy, high vibe in our sacred Sierra playground! Here are a few pictures of circles, Teddy Bear Picnic, the zebra stop on the (Inner) Treasure Hunt, and Forgiveness Footprints Path. You can see more photos on our page.
Camp gave me such a heart start for the path ahead! I sincerely hope it did the same for the beautiful souls who came to co-create our treasured time!
And! As I mentioned in the last post, the new CD did make it out and we sang some of it at Camp! In the reverent reality of all my To Dos, I will perfectly, imperfectly be ‘releasing’ it here and in the greater cyber space more fully and reverently in the coming weeks. These ABC affirmations are indeed a singing celebration that joyously lift vibration! And as the cover speaks to, I was born for this! So! In holy reverence, I thank you for spending this sacred moment with me. I heartily invite you to open up to seeing with eyes of reverence. As you practice this, you will certainly feel more bliss! May we all continue to reach for rainbows as we co-create a more reverent reality remembering who we truly be. Namaste, Love!
Greetings this fleeting last breath of February! I am here, in this mindful moment, in large part motivated by not missing the mark on the month. This blog was birthed in February 2011 and I have been here every month and couldn’t miss this one! Deep breath of commitment, surrender, pause for purpose … Truth is, my life hasn’t really had room for this blog of late … hence the last moment markers on the last few months’ dates. Time to realign the shine of this divine design? Maybe yes, maybe no, maybe so. If you are here, at any divine shine moment, thank you. Let us have a heart to heart.
We are all devoted to something. Some of us devoted to too many things. Yes, let us all be devoted to humanity. In the oneness blessed of who we be, let us pray for the tapestry of hearts that is the collective body we are home to. It is easy and perhaps natural to be wrapped up in what is right before us with no mind or heart space left for ‘others’. Tragedies occur, come into our consciousness, we pray for those affected and then we necessarily move on. Yet! Devotion demands diligence. Continued prayers and caring. Whether our thoughts, words, actions seem to have an impact on humanity’s heart or not, we continue to show up in the smallest of ways … with Love, in Love, as Love. We do because devotion makes a difference ~ if in no other heart than our own. We are, after all, heart energy. Holy Creator’s breath of Love expressed. With a mindful, loving presence, we can manage our energy with everything from food choices, thoughts, balanced choices of time for work, sleep, spiritual practice and play. I have not been visually online much at all the last few weeks (months?) as I show up for so many other areas of life and strive for balance and beauty within and in all I am dedicated and devoted to. Facebook is something I seemingly abandoned mostly out of life and energy overwhelm. The swirling energies of social media became too much for me to successfully manage so I just stepped (way!) back. Increased peace and balance are worth it and working for me, for now. Our lives continue to be an evolution of old & new, light & dark, good & bad. With Love in the center, divine order is always unfolding. I still have a fair amount of energy going to the elders all dying slow, slow deaths (like this blog?! ~ maybe ~). I see what it is to stop caring as the literal energy in the body lessons to the point of inability to show up for things that were once important, or even inspirational. Juxtaposed to my now 18 year old son in the thick of scholarship applications, local speech contests, drama and band performances ~ he like I have been for so much of life ~ lending his young, zealous energies here, there and everywhere! Balance. Angels and ancestors whisper to learn from the old, bring their strength and Love to the new. As I have let go of some things and still struggle to do half of what calls, I appreciate the divine dance of divinity as it plays out in life’s infinity. Dying and living, co-creating on all levels, we are humanity. At the heart of how I express life and Love these days is in the elevation of vibration ~ in work, play, everyday conversations. If we can somehow leave peeps the better for our interactions … sometimes I am golden in this and other times less so. We know how people, situations, news, views make us feel. Our inner Grace Positioning System will always let us know whether we are elevating and being elevated or going the other direction. With that information, we often have the freedom to choose whether to continue or disengage for the sake of our highest and best. There is no better playground to practice this than in our minds and hearts. Feeling good and positive and elevated can be work yet with the right transformative tools, it can be fairly easy and even enJOYable. And when it’s not, we keep our 3rd eyes on the prize knowing we will get to that feel good place of Love and it is well worth the journey. Indeed, it is the only way to go for ultimate happiness and elevation of ourselves ~ and humanity!Leaping Literacy Library! It is a place I am dedicated to be! I keep working on what’s there and inching towards what I want to be there! Our Free Shelf is freshly stocked with E’s as we change letters every 2 weeks in keeping with our For Humanity Daily Play & Pray Calendar at New Thought Families. There are special invitations and videos with the Season For Peace as well as inspirational game pages with Peaceful Reconstructionists. Even though I haven’t been making room for the Blog, the other regular features of the websites have been receiving as much TLC as I can muster. The daily Play & Pray celebrates 10 years in May and it remains the truest invitation I can issue you … a playful opportunity to be in your heart each day.As we find ourselves in this year’s Lenten season with Equinox and Easter coming this way, may we all entrust everlasting essence as we shape our days. We are made of Love and all the ways we choose to express this divinity has an impact on humanity and life’s energy. From any and all darkness, may we align with the shine of our divine design and our Spirits Rising ~ anytime! Thank you again for being here. Thank you for continuing to rise into your highest Love expressed. Namaste, Love Divine, Namaste!
Fleeting July Greetings! Thank you for being here for this month’s communication as it comes in these final days of jubilant July. As we began the month with our annual American celebration of independence and freedom, we will attend to that important awareness and theme here and now. As a gateway, here is a colorful recap of our SEAing the Divine co-creation celebrations this month at Spiritual Life Center! For indeed, creativity sets us free as an open doorway to spirituality!
As reported last month, my sacred Sundays are now in spiritual community with the littles and middles at Spiritual Life Center. We are finishing up a 9 week inspiration exploration celebrating our divinity with the infinity of the sea! Our weekly Creature Teachers have helped us explore our own divine design and we have had some wonderful, colorful co-creations of art in our Sunday celebrations! Each Creature Teacher is truly an AHmazing testimony to divine design. This intersection of information & inspiration ~ science and spirituality ~ is working well for us. Shout out to my super son Jeremiah who, over the years has truly opened my mind and heart to the wonders of science! And! YouTube is quite the place with a plethora of possibilities we can integrate into our celebrations. Here is the YouTube video of sea turtles we had going pre and post program this last Sunday followed by a brief overview of this month’s Creature Teacher’s and the spiritual principles we explored with them. The finished integration of all of this information & inspiration is still forthcoming to the Leaping Literacy Library spiritual literacy section so stay fine tuned if you’re interested in any or all of it. Either which way, for now, enJOY this grace filled glimpse as we breathe free in the Sea of Divinity! YouTube Video: Relax with Sea Turtles:
We started week 1 this month with Jellyfish:
Week 2: We explored all kinds of Breath and Play ~ including Bubbles ~ with Dolphin!
Week 3: We told whale tales including a metaphysical version of Jonah with WHALES!
Week 4: More stories and an array of crafts and play were explored with timeless Turtle!
Week 5: This upcoming 5th Sunday has us embracing narwhals, the unicorn of the sea, as our Creature Teacher of divinity!
The final share I have from our creativity and spirituality this July at Spiritual Life Center is that the church put some kitchen kits together for local refugee families through the World Relief project. Youth and families were able to add our touch with hand painted cups (I baked at home!) The slip inside each of the 16 mugs reads, “Hand painted with Love by the kids at Spiritual Life Center.” Yay for us! May our touch of Love be truly felt by the receiving families … So! Yes, good hearted times this month! I have also had plenty of family as always … a few trips to the mountains … dad’s 92nd, Jeremiah to band camp, visiting Silver Lake and visioning for our annual Feathers Of Freedom Family Campcoming right up August 18-20. REALLY looking forward to being in the sacred Sierras with the beautiful families and peeps of all ages in our creativity & spirituality playtime! It’s not too late for you! Be a Free Spiritwith us for this wonderful weekend! In case you are called, we still have a cabin for you!
DO join us if you possibly can! And if you can’t calendarize for this year, make it part of next summer’s sizzling plan!
So! Definitely yessing the blessings of these colorful, co-creation days! The more I say yes, the more I am blessed and therein lies the heart of freedom! Sometimes I say yes to keeping quiet until I am ready to speak; allowing Spirit to help me assimilate what is and what is mine to do in the midst of it. The pervasive political news remains in high drama mode with much of it still reeking of injustice. I cannot be on the frontlines of those standing up against bullying though I certainly, gratefully bless those that are. Every day it seems, there is yet another breaking story that if I let it, can break my heart. The recent speech of Trump to the Boy Scouts horrified me yet what is worse is the cheers and applause some of his bullying comments were met with. No matter what side of the red, white, and blue each of us resides on, my continued prayer is that we teach our children to be better than we and our ancestors have been in living the fairness and truth found in our nation’s founding principle of “Freedom and justice for all.”Unfortunately, we still have a long way to go. Yet, each of us wakes free to decide how we want to live and give the gift of liberty! For me, I am staying centered on my path of creativity and divinity. I have some really BIG news in my little corner of life as I am in the middle of taking a giant leap of faith! And! I am going to share it here next month 🙂 ~!! What I will share for now is the 3 guiding principles that have freed me up to face my fears and go forward with fortitude and faith! Perhaps they can help you too!
1. Divinely Aligned! Repeated visions and whisperings are from my holy, high self, angel team, divine guidance. If it keeps returning, it is mine to do!
2. Boundaries! In the wake of caring for aging and body failing elders, I choose to balance what I do for others and embrace this time of my life where I do have health and energy to co-create what I feel is mine to do.
3. Divine Disciple! I am choosing to use discipline and commitment as partners in freedom! As I master more of myself in the wake of inevitable doubts and fears, I am better able to stand fully in the power of my heart, taking right action for that that I am called to do.
As I employ this simple yet complex trilogy, I am free to be more fully me! I look forward to sharing the progress of the aforementioned leap of faith in a co-creation manifestation celebration next month! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing with me this month, this mindful moment. Whatever the callings of your heart, may you be forever free to keep co-creating them joyfully! Namaste, Love!
Happy April Awareness! Happy Easter ~ Monday! Happy Passover! Always so much to celebrate as our New Thought Families’ interfaith calendar honors and we will briefly explore here and now. I trust your holy days are filling you wholly in happy ways; that you are, indeed, finding heart filled conscious ways to rise from the dark places into bright light shining full expression of the true you! For my part, I continue the swirling dance of being woman, mom, daughter, artist, Leaping Literacy Librarian, and child of Creator ever evolving and emerging from the egg of life’s potentialities, possibilities, endless energies. I have been through some bumpy health and relearned the power of vibrational healing and energy clearings ~ spring cleaning at it’s best! We are energy beings after all. As an empath, I SO take on the energies of others ~ lately that has been prevalent with my parents and their failing health. Like small children who unconsciously try to “fix” their loved ones by taking on the family pain patterns, we can continue to carry them on … and on … and on! Yet! The transformational tool box beckons! We have only to reach in and grab those tools! I was reunited and re-amazed by the simple transforming power of Dr. Bradley Nelson’s Emotion Codes as I implemented them recently to shift physical pain from my body and seemingly from my mother’s body as well! AHmazing!Reflection & Death
The art of contemplation & reflection is a transformational tool often overlooked and under-utilized in this busy culture. It requires quiet, stillness, surrender. It requires an openness to listen and receive. Sometimes what we receive, demands further surrender and even death. Death of old patterns perhaps. Death of old habits or ways of being. While death can be a peaceful, deep breath release, it is more often a full on, knock down, drag out battle! My Lenten desire to release doubt was definitely tumultuous at times. I was reminded that the roots of doubt are deep and long. As I weeded through some of the dark places, I gave more space for the ever present, omnipresent light of Love to shine. My relationship with doubt feels more like a dance now and much less like a battle. It did not die completely yet a good deal of my addiction to it did die leaving my soul freer to rise and shine!
For the past 10 years, I have had an annual writing about Holy Week and Easter … from the celebratory ride Jesus took on Palm Sunday to the Garden of Gethsemane, to the cross, the tomb, and ultimate Spirit rising. This year, for a myriad of reasons, my reflections in writing are simply this:
The human journey of the soul incorporates great heights of celebration and deep depths of despair often fueled by betrayal and the cruel crucifixions of judgment, doubt, blame, shame, fear, that we inflict on ourselves and each other. Religion, ritual, holy remembrance serves us all by helping us move through the lower energies back into the higher ones. It is a cycle and a circle like that of our sacred mother … seeds sown in darkness reaching for the light to embody divine essence expressed.
This year, from several different sources, I really got how Jewish Passover is the same holy celebration as Holy week and Easter. Jesus was a Jew and the last supper, a Seder. How great is that?! Across traditions, the same themes of humanity have their intersections. Even though I have been doing our New Thought Families’ interfaith calendar for ten years, just this year it came to my attention that on April 9th, the Chinese tradition of Qingming or Tomb Sweeping Day is a day to honor one’s ancestors, visit their grave sites while also welcoming in the new spring season. Birth and death, memory and breath!
Resurrection & Breath
Here on our side of the pretty plant, April is the AHsome awareness of spring renewal and life, sweet life ever regenerating with beauty, color, vibrant vitality. We celebrate Earth Day April 22nd ~ and YES, Earth Day every day and everyday green living, thank you! Arbor Day is always the last Friday in April in the States with each state having its own Arbor Day corresponding to planting times. Globally, many nations have their own Arbor Day~ trees are indeed an international, interfaith celebration! Our own everyday Green Living is indeed a way of life. The winter is always increased dedication for me doing laundry having given up using a dryer 10 years ago. Our Living Green videos in the Leaping Literacy Librarydocument there are so many ways we can step more lightly and reverently upon our sacred mother who gives so much and asks so little. I invite you to review your ways of being, perhaps add a new habit of sustainability, celebrate every step of recycling or green living you engage in as well as be in deep reverence to our earth’s beauty and sustenance. Breathe in this life giving home and the way she is constantly resurrecting into more and more beauty, more and more life!Yes, we are always in choice, balancing the infinity of callings within us and all around us. Our calendars and ancestral traditions can help guide the way tempered by our own inner reflections to choose to engage with them ~ or not! April is also home to National Library Week ~ this year it corresponded with Holy Week. I spent the last few weeks as Leaping Literacy Librarian working on making the online Library a more user friendly place. Like all else, made good headway on a loooooooooong journey! April’s Free Shelf is a full spring and earth celebration: In wrapping up this April Awareness, I harken back to the first day of this auspicious month … April Fool’s Day. In all of my reflections and detections over the last few months, I have done a fair bit of mindful musings over mental illness. President Trump, to many of us, is clearly mentally ill. Yet, his supporters continue to see him in a positive light. The dropping of the “Mother of all bombs” on Syria last week is a devastating step back for humanity. Yet, unbelievably, some see it as a good thing. Can it be we are all merely fools on this stage of life? The joker card in the deck is sometimes referred to as the ‘trump card’ meaning it thwarts all others. Many card games, discard the joker disallowing it from play. Sometimes the joker or trump card is the wild card meaning anything goes. An interesting ponderance in our current game of life, yes?!
Ultimately, my blooming beauties, we do get to reflect on what we give our breath to and what we assign death to. My pathway to peace continues to be through prayer … reflection, breath, renewal, energy management through the transformational toolbox … A simple walk in nature is always a wonderful reset! Our beautiful planet that we celebrate this month is ever awaiting our reverent alignment with her beauty. For all of the craziness ~ our own, our families’, our culture ~ there is ALWAYS divine order! You may want to affirm and anchor this in by hugging a tree … today … on Arbor Day … every day?!!! Any day and every day is a great day to hug a tree! Thank you so much for pondering and breathing with me. Namaste, Love!
Fertility Spring Birth Spring Beginnings Spring Renewal Spring Light Spring!
Namaste Blessed, Birthing, Blooming Beauty!
Happy spring! Happy March! Women’s History Month! St. Patrick’s Day! Equinox ~ First Day of Spring! What a month! Are you feeling the Equinox renewal and balance?! Here’s hoping your hearts and calendars are full ~ yet not too full ~ with fun, frolic, and expanded awareness opportunities! For my part, life’s beautiful celebrations have been a bit tempered with the continued swirling political energies and my personal family journeys. Below, I speak a bit about ‘women’s work’ globally and what that has meant for me personally and in relation to Leaping Literacy this month.
Yet, let us delay no further in fully embracing the wonders of SPRING! Officially March 20th this year, Equinox ushers in spring (and fall on the other side of our pretty planet!) bringing equal hours of light and dark as our days become longer in light, our nights shorter in darkness. AND! Equinox brings the rich beauty and history of Goddess Ostara. Before Christianity (and I suppose other organized religions like Judaism & Islam too), Goddess and nature worship was widespread. Goddess Ostara was also known as Esther (Easter!) and known for renewal, resurrection, birth, re-birth. Today, we can metaphysically align with all these energies as nature calls our Spirits out to dance with the sprouts of green and colorful blossoms. Here’s is a prayer that combines these energies:
Sacred Spring! Oh, you reignite our passionate hearts to take flight! Thank You Goddess Ostara for renewal, balance, and resurrection.
Thank You holy Source of All Creation for blooming perfection;
divine order grace, transformation’s face of magnificent magnitude.
May we all spring forward now full of faith, trust, and joyful gratitude!
I also wrote a new song this week with and for Ostara and the gloriousness of spring. Here it is!
Spring is here alive and bright!
Spring is here alive and bright!
Green is reaching for the light
Easter, Esther, Ostara
Easter, Esther, Ostara
Ostara shines new birthing delights
Spring is here alive and bright
Light returning to balance the night
Ostara ignites our passions to flight
Ostara Shines on fertile ground
scattering seeds all around
Like green seedlings we reach for the light
With renewed desires, our passions take flight
This celebration of Ostara and spring kicked in for me last week as we experienced desert blooms ~ fresh flower faces smiling up from the cracked, dry earth. Life appearing from where it seems there is only barren dryness. We had gone south looking at universities for Jeremiah (he applies in the fall!) and I insisted on taking in the super bloom on the desert that came after so much rain this year. Jeremiah was happy enough to take it in from the car ~ yet he missed much! Though this picture looks like we were off road, I assure you there was a good size, legal road underneath our tires! It was an amazing, far as the eye could see experience that I relished. These moments of nature’s beauty feed the soul long after! One patch I tip toed through was full of caterpillars on their way to transformation …
Transformation! There is a lot of that going on these days! Women’s History Month reminds us of some of the incredible struggles women have gone through. The plethora of information and inspiration is out there in growing web pages which I still aspire to add to. As women, we are the receptive ones and yet the ones to give birth. Throughout history, women have been the ones to surrender … yes, in childbirth. And in patriarchal society ‘norms’ that still dominate in many places today. Spiritually, surrender can be a great strength; ‘Thy will be my will’. In learning to balance surrender and birth, there is a powerful co-creation wisdom. In this time of evolving consciousness, women hold a special place in the birthing process of humanity. As the world undergoes definite birthing pains with continued power struggles, the receptive, flowing female energies are needed more than ever.
My own ‘women’s work’ has been embodied in my Lenten intention to let go of doubt. By naming and claiming ~ anything ~ along with persistent practice, you will find how deep the roots go. In my own case, doubt runs much deeper than I would like! My days are filled with family service as I continue to care for the elders ~ my dad in particular who is still on the ranch which leaves me 2 sets of houses, food, bills (his) pills, etc. ‘Women’s work is never done’ as the saying goes leaving us the truth that all too often, as women our time is consumed by caring for the needs of others. Before last week’s Spring Break college looking road trip, I hosted Jeremiah’s dad here in our tiny home for a week. While he is a good man, he is one to really fill a place up with his big presence. I got to practice surrender, step away from a lot of work I had on my list and say, what project would I/could I get done this week? I put together the demo CD of the 36 Short Spirit Songs A ~ Z ~ now ready as a practice CD for the intergenerational voices who can help bring these singing affirmations to the world! These spiritual family literacy songs came to life throughout our alphabetic 2016 and continue their journey into being. So goes the birthing process of co-creation transformation and manifestation!
Our New Thought Families Daily Play & Pray Calendar this month features Compassion In Action. Our long list of Reconstructionist pages and games has once again stalled ~ leaving me to once again practice lots of self compassion! Yet! This (Women’s History) Month isn’t over for another week+ so I’ll update you again here! Balance of calendar inspired, I will keep planting seeds!
Spring Seeds! ~ Planting Your Glorious Garden!
Yes, spring! This is a great time to plant spiritual seeds in our minds and hearts. As the earth around us is bursting forth with green goodness and colorful, blooming gloriousness, we can take the energy of renewal to plant seeds of what we want more of … freedom, community, relaxation, inspiration, intuition, creativity … What is calling you? Whatever it is, put some representation of it on your altar ~ and/or on your heart. Be sure to water it with faith filled remembrance in the days to come as well as be mindful to weed out any doubts or fears that sprout up around it.
Whatever you are planting this day, this season, may it bring you an ever increasing bounty of blessings and abundance! I send you seeds of great appreciation, contemplation, co-creation & celebration. Namaste, Love!
Namaste Devoted Disciples of the Divine ~ infinity of divinity freely expressed!
I greet you in the name of democracy this post in the days following the Million Women’s March & the U.S. Inauguration of our 45th President. I was among the 20,000 marching in Sacramento Saturday in solidarity with the half million who showed up in D.C. ~ as hundreds of thousands gathered in so many cities all over America and the world adding up to, perhaps 3 million (Los Angeles 500,000, Chicago 250,000, New York 200,00, Denver 100,000, Boston, 100,000). “We are here and around the world for a deep democracy that says we will not be quiet, we will not be controlled, we will work for a world in which all countries are connected. God may be in the details, but the goddess is in connections.” ~ Gloria Steinem’s Women’s March speech, 1/21/17Full speech is here.
Indeed, there was a huge wave of voices rising up, and feet showing up and standing up for women’s rights, human rights, our Earth Mother and more ~ all over the world. And while our newly elected government didn’t have much to say, Canada’s Prime Minister is quoted as saying: “Congratulations to the women and men across Canada who came out yesterday to support women’s rights. You keep your government inspired.”~ Justin Trudeau
The huge outpouring of vitality, energy, kindness, Love & creativity I experienced in the march I was in, was echoed in all the others across the nation and the world. At the end of this post, is the link to a powerful, global pictorial from the New York Times. If you get nothing else from this sharing, do see the incredible images The Times put together. What I experienced on Saturday and what I see in these worldwide pictures is an exhilarating sense of solidarity, unity, resilience and resistance; an unprecedented coming together of people’s voices speaking for Love and justice. Not one incident of violence or harm occurred ~ just the incredible freedom of expression that is the cornerstone of democracy. It is a wave of the infinity of divinity; the divine that lives in each of us that calls us to rise up and out for ourselves, our children, for each other, for humanity. And! I so get it from some of the women closest to me (in proximity) that this divine calling is (obviously!) not one that calls to everyone. We each get to choose who and what we show up for, what we speak up for. The beauty of creation ~ human and otherwise ~ is the very diversity we stand up for. Our Creator, incredibly loves us all the same. As disciples of this Love that birthed us, we each get to follow our own callings, whatever they be. My heart is so full from seeing so many ~ of all ages ~ rise up, stand up, speak up.
Throughout history, it is the brave ones who speak up, and stand up that inspire and lead us. It is the divine disciples for democracy like Gandhi & King that we follow to this day. “A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people.”~ Mahatma Gandhi
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In the wake of all of this, I am re-committing to what I feel called to show up for … family, work, self … Love. Some of that shift will be reflected here in this blog space ~ hopefully making it clearer than ever whether this offering and/or the live and web work I have to offer is of service to you and yours. This blog was ‘born’ February 2011 as part of the website anniversary ~ New Thought Families .com launched on 2-7-2007 so with our 10 year anniversary coming up, it’s a great time to name and claim who we are and who we serve. In the broader scope of my work as an artist performer and the Creative Spirit Families non-profit, New Thought Families is home base to our spiritual literacy work.
With years of resources including 2016’s ‘For Humanity’ A~Z Calendar year, our Transformational Tools will be coming out in new ways to help others in living as divine disciples. Live & online spiritual literacy presentations are in the works and at play so stay fine tuned! For any local peeps, Creative Spirit Families has a table at theAmador Holistic Health and Wellness Fairethis Saturday and I’ll give a short talk on Spiritual Literacy at 2:30. I am also listening and planning for ways to shape our offerings to include more for political literacy and social justice. This will include a (long overdue!) expansion to some online ‘Name That Peacemaker’ games that originated one Season For Peace and Nonviolence in conjunction with this year’s Season, January 30th-April 4th which commemorates the lives of Gandhi & Dr. King. We have another week of January smiles on the New Thought Families daily Play and Pray Calendar as well as on the January Jubilee Free Shelf!Thank you for being here … wherever you are on your January journey, devoted disciple, undecided divinity ~ may you be inspired and uplifted by all the rising voices The Timesso beautifully captured in the link below. And may we all know deep in our hearts and souls that we are free to live the infinity of our divinity as the best of humanity’s harmony and democracy … NOW! Namaste, Love!
