Happy ThanksLiving!

Namaste Gorgeous Glimpses Of Gratefulness Expressed!

Happy Thanksgiving! Happy ThanksLiving! I greet you in the name of all that is holy this holy-day holiday of our November celebration post. November! The month that beckons us to remember our abundant blessings. When we live gratitude as a way of life, we are Thanks Living. Thanks Living Is Gratitude Giving! Let me sing that for you … ~!:

So the principle of trusting “that all of life is gifting me” is often easier sung than done especially when the ‘gifts’ of life don’t feel like that and can even feel like anything but! And this month, I personally, and we collectively, have had PLENTY of practice … in seeing the gifts and being in that trust. And yet when we give thanks for every little thing, it makes it easier to see the gifts in the yuckies. Life is always offering us opportunities to heal our wounds and fears opening and allowing more Love & light to live through us. Last month, we talked about the zealous yes ever calling us to be Creation’s breath of Love expressed. When our world and personal lives get increasingly heavy with pain body, rising up can be challenging at best. That’s why it is vital to secure a spiritual practice that keeps us tethered to our inner wisdom, strength, and innate ability to live on purpose, in passion, in happiness. From the national collective of mass shootings, environmental protection rollbacks in favor of cooperate greed and unsustainable dirty energy sources to the increasing threats of injustice towards the majority of people under the millionaire mark, and the #Me Too movement, there is a volume of yuckies we could dive into. For my part, I have too many #Me Too stories that have been shared in various measures over the decades yet my November moments have been reckoning with increasing overwhelm and over commitment that finally starting taking a toll physically and mentally. For weeks I have been striving for a “To Don’t” List as a means of self preservation. I will share the biggest story from this out picturing as an example of being in ThanksLiving in the midst of turmoil and pain.

So! As told here, I opened a Creative Spirit Families studio a few months ago and have had some magical moments singing, playing, creating with kids and families. The demands of doing the classes, keeping the refrigerator stocked and all supplies flowing in the studio on top of caretaking the elders, shepherding my busy teen applying for colleges, designing and implementing Sunday programs for SLC + doing the supplies and admin there, left zero time and energy for the production work I had intended and the necessary marketing to get more participation in the classes to cover the rent, much less my time and talents. Whew! If that run on sentence left you in the least confused or overwhelmed, welcome to my breakdown! 🙂
Still, to get to the point of letting the studio go, the universe (and my ‘human behind the curtain’ co-creative subconscious) had to gift me with a very low turnout for the second session of classes. My ego was doing major tangos trying to dodge the blame and shame I was directing towards me instead of graciously accepting the clarity of the definite ‘To Don’t”! It culminated before school one morning fixing Jeremiah’s breakfast and getting a text from my ‘biggest supporter’ that had very real life conflicts resulting in her saying they were only doing the first half of the session. I started crying and at Jeremiah’s request spilled it all out with the spoken understanding that I knew it was for the highest and he replying, “Sorry you’re disappointed mom but I’m glad you’re taking it on the chin.” I thanked him and emoted some more which prompted him to come and put his man size arms around me and start singing the 3rd verse of Kate Wolf’s Give Yourself To Love. I tearfully joined in and we sang the 3rd verse and chorus together:

Love is born in fire. It’s planted like a seed.
Love can’t give you everything but it gives you what you need.
Love comes when you’re ready, Love comes when you’re afraid.
It’ll be your greatest teacher, the best friend you have made.

So give yourself to Love if Love is what you’re after.
Open up your heart to the tears and laughter.
Give yourself to Love. Give yourself to Love.

~ From Kate Wolf’s song, Give Yourself To Love

I thanked him from the depth of my being. We told each other “I love you” and my 17 year old man cub left for school. I breathed in a deep breath of divine order ThanksLiving feeling infinitely blessed that I had helped raise this human ~ I’ve done something right! And the truth is the studio was/is right in many ways and it is also right to let it go now. I will fully enjoy the next few weeks of classes being in my fullest ThanksLiving possible!

And so it is that all parts of life are working for good. The more we can focus on the good, all the little things, the more appreciation flows through us and the happier we feel! ThanksLiving, like all of our spiritual practices are just that … a practice that we nurture daily. Thanksgiving and ThanksLiving EVERY day!

At Spiritual Life Center, our youth program has been centered on abundance this November with Buffalo, Hummingbird, and Turkey as our Feature Creature Teachers. One of our activities last Sunday was to write some things we are grateful for on each finger of our foam hands ~ with more time, and as a home activity, it’s great to trace and cut your own hands for this. The added time and attention to your own hands opens up even more awareness and gratefulness for the lives we are thanks living! And yes, of course, big hands too! As pictured, the hands work as a wonderful turkey tail! Like always, we had plenty of options for the turkeys including feathers and paint dotted with fingertips or spread with a plastic knife for the feather effect. It is fun to be us! At SLC, at the studio and even at today’s family Thanksgiving celebration, I have been offering creative opportunities like this … just some crafty, shiny somethings to put heart and hands to, to express. Through creativity, we let our divinity and spirituality flow!

And so I go with a mix of new co-creations, traditions, To Do’s, To Dont’s, Ta Da’s, calendarizing with lots of trust, patience, forgiveness, allowance, and remembrance. Yes, we remember in November ~! This Sunday, Advent begins and so we sing with angels! Angels all around us and inside us, always ready and able to help center us!

12 Thoughts of Christmas
Sing THIS right here and now! (Tune, What Child Is This?):

“What child is this who lives in me …
In my busyness lies sleeping.
Whom angels greet, singing so sweet …
The truth of the child they’re keeping.
This, this is consciousness.
Christ light awakening, shining bliss.
This, this is consciousness.
I wake up and I shine who I am.”

Our November Free Shelf for Leaping Literacy Library is up for another week with  lots of ThanksLiving invitations celebrating traditional, creative, and spiritual family literacy!

Whatever To Do’s and To Don’ts call to you this holy season, may you be aligned with your angel guidance for days and ways of true ThanksLiving! Namaste, Love!

PS!
I am making some progress on a long time vision and though this is a poor sample … I’m grateful for infinite possibilities!

Yes, I have a looooooong way to go with production quality, let’s smile anyway in some Turkey Talk ThanksLiving with the Piccolos! Thank you ALL for the blessing of you being part of holy Creation’s ThanksLiving!

Zealous Yes: Love Expressed

Namaste Zealous Breath Of Love & Life Expressed!

Thank you for being here this mindful moment; for saying yes to this breath, yes to this connection. In the midst of what seems a continuous swirl of suffering, injustice and instances of humanity at it’s most horriblest, let us persist in the ways we must resist and insist on experiencing glimpses of bliss despite our hurting hearts. Yes this last week has brought an array of madness moments building the momentum of the insanity of humanity with POTUS Trump actually throwing rolls of paper towels into the hands of devastated Americans in Puerto Rico and the Vegas shooter waging war on innocent civilians spraying a reign of terrifying bullets from on high. As we look on and then look away, we struggle inside and out with what to think, do, say. While some claim prayers are not enough, reaching for our holy Creator and the divinity, compassion, forgiveness inside us, is still some of the best of who we are divinely designed to be. Saying YES to reaching high is indeed, how we rise! And it can be SO challenging sometimes … I myself felt anger this week which is pretty rare for me. In our messy humanness, we feel and we deal. And we surrender, pray and reach high … and higher …

So what do we tell our children?

How can we best help our youngest navigate what we ourselves struggle with??!! The words of beloved Mr. Rogers ~ and his mother! ~ can help us all. Yes, we look for the helpers. Those are the ones that are embodying the highest in humanity. The ones called to rescue, resuscitate, renew … We tell our children to look for the helpers. We answer their questions and no more. We spare their innocence from more detail than they need; we shelter them from too many media images and messages. And we pray with our children ~ reaching on high to lift ourselves and others. We release the yuckies in healthy ways like sounding on our Leaping Literacy Free Shelf with SoulPlay Michelle Peticolas this month. We look for the good and focus there. We live the good we are blessed with, the best we can each day.

Reach High!

It is so ‘normal’ to feel sadness, anger, pain when our brothers and sisters are hurting. In today’s media age, we know so much (too much?!) in real time though of course there is always more we barely hear of (recent near genocide of Rowhingya Muslims). Most if not all of us are feeling degrees of overwhelm and it may seem somehow ‘wrong’ for us to feel good, feel joyful, much less passionate and zealous?! Let’s look deeper, shall we? If those of us who in this moment are safe, loved, surrounded by beauty & comfort are vibrating with sadness, anger or even rage and despair, who will lift humanity?! Think of it in Harry Potter terms; the Death Eaters could swallow one up, heart and soul yet be staved off with good, happy thoughts. We are not so different, friends. Though the level of chaos and darkness is seemingly growing, we must hold heart space of the highest order during these birthing pains of a more evolved, compassionate humankind. We are helpers. We are good. We are divinely designed to be a zealous YES of Love expressed!

No matter the personal or global deets of your days, say YES to your heart ~ listen and tap into … what makes your heart smile? What lights you up? What gives you a sizzling energy of YES ~?! THAT is ZEAL! Zeal is the energy of yes and pure potentiality!

For my part, I stay plenty busy being mighty mom and caretaking elders, especially my dad. These are jobs that can be exhausting and not always fulfilling. My most zealous yes is in creating ~

Above and below are ‘Peacock Cards’ I made for a spiritual literacy class this week ~ we circled up with peacock wisdom, made fruit peacock snacks and art and let this Creature Teacher speak to us of dreams. As you may or may not know, the regal beauty of the peacock embodies a wild voice ~ it kinda cries, squawks, laughs all at once! Like this pretty bird, we are all of it!
Circled up with the Peacock enlightenment! It can be so easy to ignore our hearts and live without zeal ~ seemingly saying no to our deepest desires simply by being too busy with the daily demands or by being engulfed in negativity by the gravity of current affairs. Again, I say, rise up against the ‘Death Eaters’ of insanity and gratefully embrace the goodness all around you and the goodness that is you. Reach into your Transformational Toolbox to let go of all the yuckies, surrender to your higher power and then start giving thanks for all you have and all you are. Reach high and feel the zeal ~ for your highest good and the highest good of all! Right action for what is yours to do will naturally follow your zealous YES!

Our October Leaping Literacy Library Free Shelf has a mix of home Zeal, Halloween, and a special SoulPlay PlayShop with Secrets of Life & Death’s Michelle Peticolas helping us release yuckies with sound. Great for all ages, release with us!My work/play of spiritual literacy has me developing new content for the Leaping Literacy Library as I play it out in the new Creative Spirit Families studio and at Spiritual Life Center on Sundays. Last Sunday, Squirrel was our Feature Creature Teacher. Squirrel works very hard, especially this time of year, gathering for the winter yet always seems to be at play. Rather than worrying about the approaching cold and scarcity, squirrel playfully gathers and stores with a seeming grateful joy.Life is good and the goodness of life is best felt when we stay grateful ~ and when we add some play into our work! When we look at life and death in the circle of time, we can see our lives for what we want them to be … productivity and potentiality played out passionately! Part of my calling keeps returning me to my long list of alliteration titles that are being completed in zig zag formation ~ given that last post, there were 2 new T titles and this time, the newest are from the outstanding letter O!

So! I will keep the words, Library, and live circles at play! And for my hurting brothers and sisters I will pray. With a bit of both play & pray in every breath, may we all, in our own ways, be a zealous YES of Love expressed! Namaste, Love!

Equinox Blessings Of Balance

Namaste this Equinox & Rosh Hashanah New Year Day!

In the Jewish New Year tradition, the ram’s horn is blown and apples are dipped in honey to intend and affirm a sweet life. In the Wicca celebration of Equinox, here it is the first day of fall with a Mabon harvest celebration and on the other side of the world, Ostara shines the birth of spring. This is the day of equal dark and light when the sun is directly above the equator, a balance point marking the turning of the wheel. From our New Thought Families Inspiration & Calendar pages, this marking of time has other cultural and religious manifestations and celebrations including these:

Shinto Shinto Shuki-sorei-sai
A memorial service similar to the March equinox service (Shunki-sorei-sai), this day is marked by the cleaning and purification of gravesites and the reverence of ancestors as kami, or divine spirits.

Buddhist Buddhist Ohigon
A celebration of the equinox that is of particular importance to Japanese, Korean, and Tibetan Buddhists.  During this festival, the six Paramitas [virtues] are emphasized: generosity, morality, wisdom, honesty, endeavor, and patience.

Judaism Native American Autumn Feast
A day to honor the harvest end and the coming and going of the seasons, including prayers, songs, and the telling of tribal stories.

Ritual and holi-days are ways we can re-align with the shine of our divine design. Even just taking a bird’s eye view like this of traditions that belong to others can help to inspire us. We all share the same sky and this equal time of sun and moon so it is an optimal time … to look at time. And BALANCE! And choices. Who do we give our time, talent, and treasure to? What energies are we feeding? For those of us who celebrate the New Year on January 1st, there are 100 days left now in this 2017! Those of us who live mindfully, awake and aware, this blessing of balance and the turning of the wheel is an opportunity to re-evaluate and intend for that sweet life. Sometimes this means making needed adjustments. Revisit the resolutions, if you made them. For those, like me, who do a lot, always good to take a grateful stock of what is & what has been, as well as what’s ahead. As parents, of children, (and some of us) of our own parents, milestones and markers are based on them and their lives. Tonight, my 17 year old Jeremiah is in the homecoming court at school. We are in the midst of college application preparations and Jeremiah is taking a crazy load of courses + drama and band. I am that mom helping with all of it as I also do for my parents, especially my dad, as well as tend to many of the facets of work that call to me, in part preparing for the big job of mom that comes with the child support paycheck to be past me in the circle of time. To that aim, our new Creative Spirit Families local studio began it’s first Creativity Classes & ChildSing this week, YAY! And! I have gotten back to my list of new alliteration titles that inadvertently got put on hold. Yay for Letter T! I am also in the midst of digitizing a re-illustration of a vintage Laurie Story about Hazel the tree to be shared at Spiritual Life Center this Sunday and onto the Free Shelf of the Leaping Literacy Library for the last week of September!Getting back to my Laurie StorEBooks needed to happen though, admittedly, juggling all that I do can be physically exhausting. For all of us, in this abundant culture, our fast paced lives compounded by the stresses of our global family, can really be all too much. Sooooooooooo … balance beckons! Doing what we can for our loved ones, our global family, and our own heart’s desires is a balancing act. We pray for so many devastated by hurricane, fire, earthquake. We give financially or otherwise if possible. There’s the other insanities of humanity playing out through world leaders, rebels causing genocide, hundreds of thousands of new refugees just in the last few weeks … whoa! BREATHE! BALANCE! As my Mabon song sings, “We rest in the dark, we renew in the light …”

Somehow … we find our balance in the turning of the wheel. For each of us, it is different. As Abraham Hicks and others teach, our feelings are a compass. Generally, when we feel stressed, we are out of balance. We either:

  1. Think something or someone should be different than they are.
  2. Think the way the situation is dictates what or how we are.
  3. Think we do not have the power to change it.

We are well served to bring Byron Katie’s ‘The Work’ to any or all of those thoughts beginning with the question, “Is it true?”

In taking on the new studio, I have had to re-align with the pace of grace and the art of allowance. As a spiritual being, this is the only way to do so much and still be … Truly, “It is not I but the Spirit within me that doeth the work.” Of course, there have been many moments of messiness yet the more I allow grace, the more I am gratefully and abundantly flowing! In this balance of do and be, I am living my best me! At Spiritual Life Center last Sunday, our celebration of oak trees looked at how oaks, like no other tree allow insects of all kinds to breed upon them. Some of the oak balls or galls come from wasps laying their eggs in the bark. The tree forms the gall to protect itself and in turn protects the eggs. A beautiful blesson of oneness! For our art trees, we had puzzle pieces and the little turning of the wheel pastas to add ~ all of our beautiful children created very different, gorgeous trees.

And so it is that we create from the balanced blessings of our lives; integrating all we can of the good and the bad, the dark and the light, the sweetness and the bitterness, all found on the wheel. Here’s hoping that each of us and all of us are able to keep coming into the allowance of grace so we may indeed live the highest heart of humanity ~ no matter what the calamity! Namaste, Love!

The (9/11) Legacy Of Living Love

Namaste Blessed Breath Of Love Expressed!

This week marked the 16th American anniversary and remembrance of the 9/11 tragedy. As with many national occasions, our streets were lined with American flags and many POVs (points of view) were flying about in live and digital conversations.  I felt compelled to re-tell my own recollection of that day and how it was to be on an airplane at that moment with 18 month old Jeremiah on my lap. I found a version of that retelling here in this blog voice from 2011. Our New Thought focus that September was the same as this September (and most in between!) ~ Oneness. I find myself in oneness awareness at this time of year for many reasons … for one, September as our season shifter, Spirit lifter, is often home to many interfaith celebrations. Our current Inspirations page is loaded with them! Next week I will speak to the sweet Jewish New Year Rosh Hashanah and Fall Equinox. Yay for the blessings of balance and new beginnings! For today’s mindful moment musings, consider the apple below and how it’s cut influences what/how we see.

Let’s look at Love expressed from point of view. We all have POV operating all the time both consciously and unconsciously. Lately personal and collective perspectives have seemingly put a spotlight on fear and lack ~ the opposite of what we know to be spiritual truth. From a knowingness of oneness and abundance, we can align with each other as global family. To quote Mama T again this week, “If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.” Mother Teresa

To return to the remembrance of 9/11, I find my heart hurting that 16 years later, terrorism has increased to epic proportions with the numbers of worldwide refugees reaching past the point of a humanitarian crisis. And yet this country that I love is not responding yet rather from the governmental stance is threatening deportations of our dreamers, disallowing rather than increasing the intake of refugees and still planning to build … the wall. In a time of evolutionary expansion, fear is still calling for walls … even though it is true that we are one family who belongs to each other! (BTW, American DIY super store Home Depot wants to help build the wall so you may choose not to support their business.) Our individual and collective POV‘s are in a widespread range of fear and Love. I, like many, remain somewhat conflicted about how and when to speak up and out. While it is essential that we decipher for ourselves how we see things and what is ours to do about it, we do well to return to our center as spiritual BEings in the midst of our action or non-action DOings. In New Thought, the surest pathway to this (re)alignment is prayer. Unity was founded on prayer and this evening marks the beginning of the 24th annual Unity World Day Of Prayer :
Unity Christianity
Unity Annual World Day of Prayer. A 24 hour vigil & celebration held the 2nd Thursday in September. 2017 theme is Peace In The Midst Of All Matters affirming: I am peace in the midst of all matters!

No matter how you center or pray, it is always a comfort and support to do it with others. There is always someone praying in this world; at Unity village they do it 24/7. Prayer can be a lifeline to peace as we release our individual and collective burdens to a higher Source of infinite Love and potentiality. I am deeply grateful that my 17 year old Jeremiah and I still pray in and out our days. Hopefully, prayer will indeed be a lifeline for my son throughout his years as it has been for me and for us!

Ultimately, how you pray and align with your divine design is uniquely up to you. Remember the eye and the star of the apple and to check your points of view. Remember the Access Consciousness tool to ask, “Who does this belong to?” We are sovereign beings even and especially in the truth of our oneness. It is from this place of sovereignty, we most effectively live our divinity while simultaneously embodying life and Love as One. May we continue to be blessed in Living as Love expressed! Namaste, Love!

Labor Of Love

Namaste Wondrous Light Workers! Happy Labor Day!

With a deep breath of Love expressed, let us ponder, just a moment, what it is to do our work in this world …

Today, the first Monday in September is always set aside in America to honor workers and a now, mostly forgotten long, old battle with worker’s rights, fair wages and treatment. According to the US Department of Labor, this day is the “yearly national tribute” to the “contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity and wellbeing of our country.” At the least, it’s good to remember that this holi-day is more than BBQs and shopping sales.
In the heart of existence, can we breathe into what it is to have a life’s work of being the Creator’s Love expressed? I think about this a lot and thought it a good time to share some musings. The recent response to Hurricane Harvey comes to mind with regular folk going to ‘work’ to rescue folks with their personal boats, trucks. In the wake of disaster, the best of who we are as humanity often rises up to shine. For me personally, I have been showing up to do non-paid work for a very long time. One example is the daily Play & Pray Calendar at New Thought Families, now in it’s 10th year! This September, we remember we are one on the calendar. In re-visiting oneness, I am reminded of being oneness blessed. After all these years, I’m not sure how much this daily offering serves the world yet it is work I still feel is worth showing up for.
Like many, if not most or all of you, I have a lot of family work. Spiritually parenting my 17 year old son and 92 year old father in particular. These are jobs that have and do pay me some, in terms of monetary dollars yet they are a 24/7 kind of commitment with immeasurable compensation due and (sometimes) received. I am also called to keep clearing ancestral ‘treasures’ on this earthly plane. This work is not always met with understanding or appreciation by some in my family which can feel like a slap in the face. Whatever the deets, family is always work. From the logistical chores and upkeep to the emotional treading and threading as we weave the web of relational oneness. It is a labor of Love that can feel rewarding or extremely challenging. What keeps my heart straight is aligning with Spirit as the family heartbeat. From this place I am more able to be compassionate, caring … and willing.

Why We Do The Work We Do
Jobs! Work! Career! Life Calling! Life Path! Showing up day in and day out to give of ourselves and our gifts. We all know plenty of peeps on the spectrum of labor and labor of Love. I have been one to follow my heart with work, most of my life. Always a creator with a prolific body of work in the Leaping Literacy Library, I have to say the ‘ordinary’ job of being Jeremiah’s mom is one of the best jobs ever and I have been doubly blessed by a generous compensation of child support. I know that so many on this planet haven’t been afforded this aspect of freedom in choosing how they feed their children and themselves. We often work … just … for the money. I have found that many, including most in my family, seemingly only value the jobs I do that actually pay money. Which is funny when you think about how someone like Mother Teresa is revered for her life’s work. From our PeaceMaker page on Mama T:
Mother Teresa
Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary.
What we need is to love without getting tired.
~ Mother Teresa

When thinking of work and the kind of giving she did, it is remarkable to know that not only was Mother Teresa not in it for the money, she spent many of her days in darkness … feeling empty in her giving. This has been well documented and so I hope that after she left this earthly plane, she did indeed receive her just reward, aka in her soul journey, she experienced her great work as worthwhile.

Good works are links that form a chain of love. ~ Mother Teresa

To You Who Gave ~ By Me (Laurie Story  V)

Mother Teresa who gave to the poor …
did you ever wonder what it was all for?
When you listened to your heart, was it always true?
And in your endless giving, who gave to you?
In your selfless living, did you feel the grace?
Were you filled with the same mercy that you gave?
Did you ever soak in a warm bubble bath?
Did you have a good friend that made you laugh?
Were there arms to hold you? A voice in your ear?
Did anyone speak to your doubt and fear?
Were you blessed with at least one comforting friend;
someone you could trust in and forever depend?
Beautiful Mother Teresa, you ministered to us all,
even if your faith faltered, you answered the call.
And if you ever wondered what it was all for,
know now that your love, loves you back ever more.
~ Laurie Story

So! Does a labor of Love have to involve suffering and selfless giving?! Let’s hope not! Or we would never plant flowers or paint pictures. I hope that whatever your work is in this world, you honor the inner creator as well as the Great Creator that breathed life into us all! From the spiritual perspective, our job is to keep affirming and living, “I am one with all that is” in an honoring of all expressions of the divine, especially the ones that prove hard to see the aspects of their divinity.WorldFamily

Leaping Literacy!
For my part, I’ll just keep being me; showing up for many in my life as well as for Leaping Literacy! Below is our September Free Shelf super stocked with a celebration of creativity, spirituality and trees! I also am posting our new offerings for Creativity Classes locally. The studio is new. The offerings are newly revised for the fresh space. The leap of faith is ancient. I am showing up to do the work with a playful invitation for others to come and experience their own joy and creativity. It’s good work. I am grateful for it. And so grateful for you ~ for ALL the work YOU are called to do. Namaste, Love!

Free Spirits! Shine Through The Shadows!

Namaste Shining Stars Of Rising Fortitude, Faith & Freedom!

Ah, August! Hurricane Harvey is devastating parts of Texas, North Korea is shooting off missiles, expressions of fear faced intolerance & hate marching in the streets of Charlottesville and beyond … dark shadows rising!  We began the month on the 7th with a partial lunar eclipse followed 2 weeks later by the ‘Great American’ solar eclipse that brought peeps into the path of totality from all over the planet. Yes, eclipses are a pretty big deal, not just for their natural phenomena; they shine on our human shadows, both individually and collectively. Our nation and so many places all over this earth are seeing shadow effects in the extreme with Mother Nature sometimes in the middle as the great equalizer. Whether gathered for 2 minutes of totality or taking out a boat to rescue neighbors or stopping to admire or hug a tree, nature helps the hearts of humanity find ways to rise and shine … more Love, compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, acceptance, oneness.

Life is, after all, a shadow dance of dark and light. Humanity is hopefully birthing a new embodiment of the light yet the birthing pains of fear are showing their shadows large. We do well to remember that all is either Love or fear. Nazi, KKK, white supremist, fear, fear, fear. This remembrance helps me employ more compassion as I, with countless others, dive deep into how to respond to this shadow uprising. I keep choosing Love and giving thanks for those who are willing and able to act, to resist, to rise up. Yes, the affirmation of “This is not who we are” is powerful yet we have to own with accountability that as a nation, as one, it is indeed, sadly, part of who we are and certainly who we have been. Big breath of acceptance. And realignment with the greatest power there has ever been or ever will be, Love.

We All Live With Shadows … In being Love, our own shadows can and do rise up in response to eclipse energies and collective shadows. A sure way to rise is to stay gratefully mindful of the infinity of our blessings especially in the wake of others’ tragedies. Still, as conscious beings growing and glowing on, our shadows help define our light.  In my shadow times, I make bad food choices that effect my well being, I add too many to do’s to my not enoughness, I run into money issues that would name and claim me as inept. Whatever the deets of our personal dance, the light of Love is always available in all of it’s compassionate power! I choose to align and realign with renewed disciplines as the shining disciple I truly be.

Stages and Phases of Grow & Glow!

(So! Speaking of all of the above, I had this August ezine blog *mostly* set mid month before our annual Feathers Of Freedom Family Camp yet I go too bizy with Camp to finish up so now it seems rather moot to be giving you August web updates, etc. ~Not sure what last month’s excuse was, hee hee!~ What I can say is that September’s intention is to show up weekly and at least semi shortly as I do in email for the families I serve at Spiritual Life Center. For many years, I was here most mindful Mondays so we’ll see how a weekly appearance in September goes and perhaps October will bring back the monthly ezine format yet at the TOP of the month! In the end, the hope and the prayer is that YOU are served at whatever mindful moment you land here! Thank you!)

Before we glimpse some of the intuition and imagination teachings and learnings of this month of August, a word on … FEATHERS OF FREEDOM CAMP! Our 12th annual camp served 62 this year … still small yet growing & glowing bigger than before. This little footpath below is where I lay out the Forgiveness Footprint Path and it starts from (and opens into) The Circle Of Love. As with all of life, the path is open and allows for us to choose what, and who, we put on it … Who goes on the path and in what ways can vary, of course.

A great highlight this year was the Fairy Tea that brought peeps of all ages including my 17 year old Jeremiah and friends who wore wings with the rest of us! Pictured above, it makes my heart smile that they mapped this moment on their journeys.  There are so many treasures from Camp this year, it deserves it’s own post, yet I will use the incentive to do a great revised Camp page letting folks know better just what it is we’re up to! I do SO love this Camp and all the beautiful families that say YES WE WILL and join us! In this time of dark shadows rearing and reaching for the light, I felt doubly grateful and blessed to be setting and standing in the Circle Of Love once more in the sacred Sierras!
Imagine … A World Of Empowered Intuition! In this month’s online offerings (linked below) and at Spiritual Life Center, we have been focused on imagination and intuition. At SLC, our feature Creature Teachers have been Unicorn, Fairy, Dragon & Kokopelli. They all help us touch into the unique, powerful, creation places and spaces of awe and ah that live inside us that we most often cannot see yet ever beckon us to believe in faith moving into more fullness of our divine essence expressed. YES! Imagination! We can be whoever we see is how we’ve been singing it this month. Truly one of our greatest gifts, imagination is an important transformational tool in visioning and becoming. Besides, this FUNdamental sense is what allows us to free play through life! Yippee! Intuition! Our internal GPS … God Positioning System … Grace in Place and Space! Learning to listen to this inner voice of wisdom is a life long journey for most of us. This month, as we focus on what it is to use intuition and imagination, we help plant seeds of awareness in our youngest as we till the garden already in some of our youth. As always, we show up in all our different phases, all in celebration of creativity as the gateway to spirituality. Spiritual practice doesn’t make perfect yet it makes room … for … more … of who we truly be. For any looking for more practical, spiritual resources, we got ‘em!!Integration Of Intuition & Imagination At Home!

Fairy Dancing Fire Breathing Dragon Light!
We often have to employ our blind faith in matters of our personal and humanitarian lives. My opening this local studio is generally not supported by my loved ones who know the over-committed, overwhelmed side of me. I admit I share their fear for my sanity and energy. Yet! I am called to do this on so many levels so I am facing the fear and going forward with fortitude. I know of no other way to answer the calling.

In the wake of the voice of hate in the streets, rising waters, suffering around the world, our own bouts with death & rebirth, fear & Love in this eclipse season, let us remember that no shadow is strong enough to put out our light! The breath of Creator, God, Goddess, Holy Spirit ~ Divinity by any name is our eternal flame. From this powerful place, we can indeed co-
create ~ and maybe even be more ‘lucky’ as we stand in dragon roar, more ‘magical’ as we dance with Kokopelli, the fairies, and unicorns! In implementing our imaginations and intuition, we are indeed better aligned with the shine of our divine design.
However we choose to respond to injustice, or any challenge in our personal and collective lives, may we enlist our soul remembrance bringing it compassionately into our current circumstances. The power of Love fuels all of our gifts … the gift to see and to be … FREE … to imagine! Our imagination! What a celebration! Our intuition! Can you give yours full permission?! The gift of our internal guidance system ~ our inner GPS ~ God Positioning System that is the grace filled whisper allowing us to flow through life with ease … when we listen and heed the direction of course! It becomes highlighted in times of disaster like Hurricane Harvey where peeps take to the flooded streets in their boats to help. May each of us be so guided to act in whatever ways great and small are ours to do this moment, this day, this precious life. Thank you so much for being here now, present, as the gift of you.
Keep Shining! Keep shining your glow through the shadows; we are Life’s breath of Love expressed! And! Together in Spirit Rising, we are so blessed. Namaste, Love!

Fovever Free In the Sea Of Divinity!

Namaste Divinely Designed Freedom Floaters!

Fleeting July Greetings! Thank you for being here for this month’s communication as it comes in these final days of jubilant July. As we began the month with our annual American celebration of independence and freedom, we will attend to that important awareness and theme here and now. As a gateway, here is a colorful recap of our SEAing the Divine co-creation celebrations this month at Spiritual Life Center! For indeed, creativity sets us free as an open doorway to spirituality!

As reported last month, my sacred Sundays are now in spiritual community with the littles and middles at Spiritual Life Center. We are finishing up a 9 week inspiration exploration celebrating our divinity with the infinity of the sea! Our weekly Creature Teachers have helped us explore our own divine design and we have had some wonderful, colorful co-creations of art in our Sunday celebrations! Each Creature Teacher is truly an AHmazing testimony to divine design. This intersection of information & inspiration ~ science and spirituality ~ is working well for us. Shout out to my super son Jeremiah who, over the years has truly opened my mind and heart to the wonders of science! And! YouTube is quite the place with a plethora of possibilities we can integrate into our celebrations. Here is the YouTube video of sea turtles we had going pre and post program this last Sunday followed by a brief overview of this month’s Creature Teacher’s and the spiritual principles we explored with them. The finished integration of all of this information & inspiration is still forthcoming to the Leaping Literacy Library spiritual literacy section so stay fine tuned if you’re interested in any or all of it. Either which way, for now, enJOY this grace filled glimpse as we breathe free in the Sea of Divinity!
YouTube Video: Relax with Sea Turtles:

We started week 1 this month with Jellyfish:

Freedom is truly found in The Flow!

Week 2: We explored all kinds of Breath and Play ~ including Bubbles ~ with Dolphin!

Creature Teacher Dolphin knows to Be Here Now and Breathe!

Week 3: We told whale tales including a metaphysical version of Jonah with WHALES!

The biggest creatures on earth have a lot to teach about BIG LOVE!

Week 4: More stories and an array of crafts and play were explored with timeless Turtle!

Turtle teaches us that we are always home and protected. And that yes, slow and steady makes for the pace of grace which is the surest way to win any race!

Week 5: This upcoming 5th Sunday has us embracing narwhals, the unicorn of the sea, as our Creature Teacher of divinity!

AHmazing Artic Sea Photo ‘borrowed’ from Kids National Geographic, thank you!               Our Narwhal Creature Teacher helps us SEA, we can Be Unique & Swim Free!

The final share I have from our creativity and spirituality this July at Spiritual Life Center is that the church put some kitchen kits together for local refugee families through the World Relief project. Youth and families were able to add our touch with hand painted cups (I baked at home!) The slip inside each of the 16 mugs reads, “Hand painted with Love by the kids at Spiritual Life Center.” Yay for us! May our touch of Love be truly felt by the receiving families …
So! Yes, good hearted times this month! I have also had plenty of family as always … a few trips to the mountains … dad’s 92nd, Jeremiah to band camp, visiting Silver Lake and visioning for our annual Feathers Of Freedom Family Camp coming right up August 18-20. REALLY looking forward to being in the sacred Sierras with the beautiful families and peeps of all ages in our creativity & spirituality playtime! It’s not too late for you! Be a Free Spirit with us for this wonderful weekend! In case you are called, we still have a cabin for you!

Our self guided Forgiveness Footprints Path is one of many optional opportunities at Feathers Of Freedom to playfully explore & free your heart!

DO join us if you possibly can! And if you can’t calendarize for this year, make it part of next summer’s sizzling plan!

Flowing Freedom!

So! Definitely yessing the blessings of these colorful, co-creation days! The more I say yes, the more I am blessed and therein lies the heart of freedom! Sometimes I say yes to keeping quiet until I am ready to speak; allowing Spirit to help me assimilate what is and what is mine to do in the midst of it. The pervasive political news remains in high drama mode with much of it still reeking of injustice. I cannot be on the frontlines of those standing up against bullying though I certainly, gratefully bless those that are. Every day it seems, there is yet another breaking story that if I let it, can break my heart. The recent speech of Trump to the Boy Scouts horrified me yet what is worse is the cheers and applause some of his bullying comments were met with. No matter what side of the red, white, and blue each of us resides on, my continued prayer is that we teach our children to be better than we and our ancestors have been in living the fairness and truth found in our nation’s founding principle of “Freedom and justice for all.” Unfortunately, we still have a long way to go. Yet, each of us wakes free to decide how we want to live and give the gift of liberty! For me, I am staying centered on my path of creativity and divinity. I have some really BIG news in my little corner of life as I am in the middle of taking a giant leap of faith! And! I am going to share it here next month 🙂 ~!! What I will share for now is the 3 guiding principles that have freed me up to face my fears and go forward with fortitude and faith! Perhaps they can help you too!
1. Divinely Aligned! Repeated visions and whisperings are from my holy, high self, angel team, divine guidance. If it keeps returning, it is mine to do!
2. Boundaries! In the wake of caring for aging and body failing elders, I choose to balance what I do for others and embrace this time of my life where I do have health and energy to co-create what I feel is mine to do.
3. Divine Disciple! I am choosing to use discipline and commitment as partners in freedom! As I master more of myself in the wake of inevitable doubts and fears, I am better able to stand fully in the power of my heart, taking right action for that that I am called to do.

As I employ this simple yet complex trilogy, I am free to be more fully me! I look forward to sharing the progress of the aforementioned leap of faith in a co-creation manifestation celebration next month! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing with me this month, this mindful moment. Whatever the callings of your heart, may you be forever free to keep co-creating them joyfully! Namaste, Love!
