New Thought Families Mindful Matters Monthly Memberships!
Happy Mindful Moment Spirit Filled Travelers!
I greet you in sacred celebration & reverence this Holy Week ~ full of palms held high celebrations, Garden of Gethsemane guessing, crucifixion crumbling, and (trusting!) the inevitable Spirit Rising in all of it!
In the Christian tradition, this week is known as Holy Week and yes begins on Palm Sunday with Jesus being hailed & celebrated with the waving of palm fronds as he enters Jerusalem.
We had a beautiful time on Palm Sunday hosting a Pathways To Peace Concert & PlayShop. It was an opportunity to reawaken the Love inside us for ourselves & each other celebrating the peace ~ and joy ~ that comes from such mindful playtime! We used the oh so telling symbol of our own palms to celebrate who we are & to plant seeds of what we want to co-create more of in our lives.
As a master teacher, Jesus came here to show us the way. Traditional Christians believe he came to die for our sins so that we might live forever. As a metaphysical Christian, I believe Jesus came to teach us how to Love with compassion as well as PASSION ~ for ourselves and others.
As Holy Week unfolds, the palm waving celebration of Christ gives way to his Last Supper washing of his disciples’ feet ~ the ultimate humble honoring of their journeys ~ and the knowing that he would be betrayed by one of his beloveds. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus agonizes over his own journey ~ the impending crucifixion ~ with the ultimate sorrow & suffering of wondering if he has even been forsaken/betrayed by his own Abba/Father.
The agony of life questioning is something often felt by mindful disciples of the holy Spirit. We often feel called to do things there is no instruction manual for. Traditional Christians find their way through the Bible. For me, I am more likely to hear God through the sunsets, the flowers, the trees … And as much passion as I can feel for God, for life, for Love, I have had plenty of Garden of Gethsemane 2nd guessings moments of what is mine to do. Just this last week, in finally putting the membership program together for New Thought Families, I had many mindful, ‘Get thee behind me’ moments. I still don’t know if it is the ‘right’ thing to do ~ Will it truly serve families? Which families? How do I find them? What if the vision is actually delusion? I do deserve & need to make money for the work I do in the world! Is this just craziness on my part? And on it goes … So I just affirm (again!) that clarity is my natural way of being. I have an abundance of gifts to give & these co-creations can & will serve others on their spiritual path. It can be total ease & grace to find those I am meant to serve. It may be that things will keep evolving into the format that can serve best. It’s all good ~ just keep yessing each blessing. My job is to continue affirming the blessings while keeping the 2nd guessings to some level of healthy discernment that allows me to keep saying YES to next steps!
Crucifixion. The ultimate focus of traditional Christians. The cross hangs on the walls of homes and around countless necks & hearts. Yes, humanity can and has acted in abominable ways ~ often in the name of God. Jesus suffered nails through his palms/hands & feet as he hung on that cross next to 2 thieves on their crosses. Isn’t it true that we often steal the sacredness of our moments and our lives by living in our suffering? Don’t we all too often choose to dwell on the negative? Or the hurts of the past? The worries of the future? Freedom is in forgiveness. Freedom is in the beautiful peace of the now moment.
There have been many punishments devised by humanity throughout history ~ such as the death penalty enactments still going on today. No punishment of the innocent or guilty has ever erased sin. Sin is an archery term that means to miss the mark ~ to make a mistake. I believe Jesus and his cross are the ultimate annointer & administrator for the true answer to sin ~ forgiveness. We all make mistakes. We all condemn ourselves & others with our judgements ~ in & out of the Garden ~ mindful or mindless, we do it. Yet, through grace & Spirit rising flow, we forgive with compassion & unconditional Love and we go on. We rise again. Hallelujah!
Last week’s Mindful Meditation Invitation was to open your mind & heart to co-create more compassion & expansion in your world. For this Holy Week, let us plant seeds of unconditional Love in our Gardens ~ for the seed of Love grows into Love! At New Thought Families, our interfaith, intergenerational focus this week remains on compassion & kindness as we segue into April forgiveness. Our new Mindful Memberships option is in place ~ woo hoo! There is a free download sample of what our weekly resources will be for members. It is for this current Holy Week so download it HERE! And here is our video invitation that includes Jeremiah & I singing & playing a slightly revised version of a Hindu chant, Seed Of Love ~ check out my young man cub’s fancy fingers on the ukulele ~ and then there’s me on that new mandolin we spoke of last week ~ passionate if not proficient!
The seed of Love grows into Love. Let yourself go. Let yourself grow.
Let Love be Love in you. Let Love be Love in you.
Thank you so much for being here! May you enJOY a super sacred & celebratory Holy Week of planting seeds of Love! Namaste, Love.
